Curated by Dandara Maia, the WAXATLAS exhibition: Mapping African Prints is an academic investigation into exposure format. The curator presents her experiments with wax print analysis based on Aby Warburg work. Warburg created a methodology for comparison of images aimed at identifying the survival of artistic expressions over time. Dandara uses Bildatlas to make visible the various cultural influences that coexist on wax prints.
